Verstappen to lose longest-serving sponsor as jumbo ends deal
One of Max Verstappen's major and long-standing sponsors is withdrawing their support. Last year, the CEO and owner of Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo, Fritz van Eerd, became entangled in a money laundering scandal. As a result, Jumbo decided to terminate most of its sports sponsorships, except for its highest-profile partnership with the 25-year-old consecutive world champion, Verstappen. However, according to the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper, this situation is now changing, as Jumbo plans to conclude its collaboration with the Red Bull driver by the end of 2023.
