The sporting world ground to a halt in 2013, when it was announced the legendary Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher was in critical condition following a skiing accident. The German survived the incident but suffered severe brain injuries, forcing the seven-time world champion into a coma, leaving the world with no idea if he would ever recover. Since awaking from this coma, the German was moved to be with his family in Switzerland, where he has been kept out of the public eye by his family, who wish to protect the 54-year-old as he slowly recovers from the accident.
