Why Aston Martin opted for Vandoorne as reserve driver
Article To news overview © XPBimages Aston Martin boss Mike Krack believes that the appointment of Stoffel Vandoorne as a test and reserve driver at Aston Martin will greatly benefit the team. It has been announced that Vandoorne will join the squad in his new role for the 2023 season, where he will share duties with Formula 2 champion Felipe Drugovich across the 24-race F1 calendar. Vandoorne will also continue to compete in Formula E, with the Belgian moving to DS Penske for the upcoming season off the back of his championship victory with Mercedes EQ in the 2021/22 campaign.
