Norris: I don’t think we expected a lot of the upgrade

McLaren brought an upgrade to their MCL36 for the 2022 French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard, but early signs did not show a massive improvement, Lando Norris admitting not much was expected of it. Norris did not get to sample the new upgrade package until FP2 on Friday afternoon, as it was only bolted on Daniel Ricciardo's car for the FP1. Norris and Ricciardo finished the first practice seventh and tenth respectively with each driver improving by one position in the afternoon session. Despite both cars featuring in the top ten, Norris admitted the improvement wasn't drastic, and revealed that he had to change his driving a bit to adapt to the new car.
