Changes to Barcelona circuit: another duel between Verstappen and Leclerc?
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya underwent necessary modifications for the 2021 Spanish Grand Prix. This was done in coordination with the MotoGP, where the tenth corner of the circuit was deemed unsafe after the fatal accident of Moto2 rider Luis Salom at the circuit in 2016. This year, some changes have also been made to the circuit. What effect could these changes have on Formula 1 's "new racing" in 2022? The 24-year-old Salom crashed heavily in turn twelve during free practice and did not survive the accident. After this the MotoGP immediately started using a different lay-out on the spot.
