Transport costs and budget cap increase under the microscope at F1 meeting

Article To news overview © F1 The F1 Commission, comprising of the Formula 1 teams, the FIA, and F1 will meet in London on Tuesday for round-table discussions about a number of issues, with inflation and rising freight costs going under the microscope in light of the tight budget cap. Teams are restricted to a financial cap of $140 million dollars in 2022, a shrinking of $5 million from the 2021 limit in the inaugural year of financial restrictions. While the travel of F1 personnel does not fall under the restrictions of the FIA Financial Regulations, the transport of freight is included under the cap and, in light of skyrocketing inflation around the world, a bigger chunk of the $140...
