Alonso: "If the steards doesn't do something about it, we can do the same"
Fernando Alonso ensured that all attention was on him during the sprint race by making a super start and immediately moving up from eleventh to fifth position. After that the Alpine driver had to defend for laps and he did so tooth and nail. Although it ensured that the fans were treated to a fine first sprint race of Formula 1, the stewards and opponents of Alonso were less happy with the way he defended. The Spaniard swerved from side to side on the straights and even appeared to change line on the brakes. He received a warning for this, but no penalty.
