Opinion: Soporific finales shows Yas Marina needs to change
Formula 1’s season came to a close on Sunday at the Yas Marina Circuit – and not for the first time the race passed with little in the way of fanfare. There’s now enough evidence to suggest action is needed. There are myriad reasons why Formula 1 races can be entertaining or can pass with little to note. Sometimes the same circuit can produce a thriller one year and a snoozefest the next. It can be the regulations, the weather, drivers qualifying out of position, the tyres, varying strategies or other factors.
