In a busy day in Formula 1, all but one grand prix was won by a world champion. Jim Clark scythed through the field from eighth on the grid to take the lead from Graham Hill 17 laps in before going on to lap the entire field except for Bruce McLaren’s Cooper Climax to win a soaking wet 1963 Dutch Grand Prix. Five years later, fellow great Scot Jackie Stewart led a just as wet ‘68 Dutch Grand Prix from flag to flag en route to the Matra MS10 Cosworth’s maiden win from teammate Jean-Pierre Beltoise and Pedro Rodríguez’ BRM, while Niki Lauda beat Ferrari 312B teammate Clay Regazzoni and Emerson Fittipaldi’s McLaren Cosworth to win the 1974 Dutch GP.
