F1: Leclerc unimpressed with '26 car
Charles Leclerc admits to not being a 'big fan' of the 2026 Ferrari following initial simulator runs. 'Let's say it's not the most enjoyable race car I've driven so far,' the Monegasque told reporters in Austria, 'but we are still in a moment where the project is relatively new.' Next year sees an overhaul not just of the regulations pertaining to the cars but also the chassis, with power now split 50/50 between the internal combustion engine and electrics. This means an increase of something like 300% in battery power - compared to contemporary cars - and in order to achieve this drag levels have been greatly reduced meaning less downforce and consequently slower lap times.
