Sergio Perez Slams Red Bull For Not ‘Protecting' Him

Sergio Perez has openly criticised Red Bull for failing to back him during a tense 2024 season, saying the team allowed speculation to escalate despite having a contract in place. Red Bull recently confirmed that Liam Lawson would replace Perez for 2025. Speaking on the podcast Desde el Paddock, Perez revealed, “I had a signed contract in Monaco, but from the next race onwards, everyone was talking about my future.” He continued, “It would have been easy for the team to protect me… But that wasn't the case.” According to Perez, the relentless focus on his status created pressure that disrupted his side of the garage.
