Red Bull junior Isawa to replace Verstappen in Bahrain FP1

The 23-year-old Japanese driver will replace Max Verstappen in Friday’s FP1, adding to the excitement of a day dedicated to showcasing young talent. F1’s rule requiring teams to field rookies – drivers with two or fewer Grand Prix starts – in at least four FP1 sessions over the course of the season has sparked a wave of fresh faces.
