Sainz and Perez escape sanction after race-ending collison
F1 Grand Prix, GP Azerbaijan, Baku Street Circuit The FIA stewards have confirmed that Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez have escaped sanction after their high-speed collision on the penultimate lap of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Having closed in on the leading trio for the closing stages of the 51-lap Baku race, Carlos Sainz was desperate to get onto the podium. With the Sergio Perez battling with Charles Leclerc for the second spot, Sainz managed to overtake Perez, but with the Spaniard tussling with Leclerc, Perez managed to fight back and pull alongside Sainz.
