Perez gets his elbows out at the start of the 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix

The Formula 1 cars got off the line cleanly in Azerbaijan following a horror crash at the start of the F2 sprint race in Baku. Charles Leclerc stayed in the lead while Sergio Perez got his elbows out in the opening sector. Baku's most successful F1 driver locked up at turn one but still made his way through to P3 on the opening lap. Meanwhile, Lando Norris made good ground on the opening lap from 15th on the grid. Max Verstappen jumped George Russell at the start.
