Wolff earger to close the gap to Red Bull in the remainder of the season
Following a positive momentum in the past two months, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff hopes that his outfit can further reduce the gap to the field-leading Red Bull in the remainder of the season. Mercedes had endured a contrasting time in the opening 14 rounds of the season. Following a tough start to the season, the Brackley-based outfit impressed with three wins in the last four races, registering two pole positions, and six races in succession with a podium finish. Compare that to the opening seven races, when the team managed a best Grand Prix finish of P5 and a P2 in the China Sprint, and it is clear the team's hard work was bearing fruit as the summer break approached.
