Gasly to take grid penalty at Silverstone over PU limits

Pierre Gasly will start from the back of the grid at this weekend’s British Grand Prix due to exceeding the maximum number of power unit components allowed per season. The Alpine driver has already taken a fifth internal combustion engine (ICE), turbocharger, MGU-H, MGU-K — exceeding the limit of four — as well as a third control electronics that is outside the maximum permitted two. With more than a 15-place grid penalty in total, the regulations state that Gasly must start from the back of the grid.
