Fourth in Friday practice 'a bit of a surprise' for Gasly

21/06/2024 at 20:1321/06/2024 at 20:18 Alpine driver Pierre Gasly admitted that he hadn't been expecting to feature quite so high up the timings at the end of Friday's practice sessions for this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix. Gasly was fourth quickest in FP2, within two tenths of pace setter Lewis Hamilton, putting him ahead of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen when the chequered flag came out. “I must say it was a very, very good FP2,” beamed Gasly afterward. “It came a little bit as a surprise.
