Close call between Doohan and Sargeant during FP1, crash avoided
Jack Doohan and Logan Sargeant escaped a huge crash in the first free practice for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Alpine junior came out of the penultimate corner at great speed and then found Sargeant in his path. The Williams driver may have been trying to make space by going off his line, but this in turn forced Doohan to take extra anticipation. Race control will investigate Sargeant's driving behaviour after FP1, so another penalty may await the American.
