Ferrari fastest in first Le Mans qualifying, Toyota beaten

Ferrari has struck its first blow at Le Mans. The Italian team qualified for Thursday's hyperpole session with a handsome 1-2 in the first part of qualifying for the 24-hour race. Ferrari was thus faster than Toyota, which dominated the World Endurance Championship(WEC) until Le Mans.  Article continues under ad Qualifying for the 24 Hours of Le Mans was spread over two days. On Wednesday, there was a general qualifying session for the three classes (hypercar, LMP2 and GT-Am). In it, the best eight in each class qualified for the hyperpole session, which takes place on Thursday evening.
