Christian Horner insists Formula 1 needs an ‘American Max Verstappen’ as he snubs rookie
Since Liberty Media took over Formula 1 in 2017, the growth of the sport in the USA has been phenomenal. Helped by the popularity of Netflix’s ‘Drive to Survive’, the American motorsport fanbase has begun to embrace Formula 1 in the same way it does NASCAR and IndyCar. Having traditionally only ever hosted one race on the calendar every season, the USA featured races in both Austin and Miami last season, with the latter being one of the most spectacular events in F1 history.
