Toto Wolff cautions Lewis Hamilton and George Russell
The W13 was nothing short of a disaster for Mercedes, with the car being retired at the end of last season with only a single race win to its name. The car design plan that Mercedes chose under the major regulation changes turned out to be the wrong one, leaving the team to struggle with a lack of pace and a major porpoising problem. It took the Silver Arrows until after the summer break to solve the violent bouncing issue, leaving the W13 miles behind the cars of their rivals, who had been developing their package for the entirety of the year.
