Sainz beats Verstappen to pole position in Austin

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz was just able to snatch pole position from his team mate Charles Leclerc at the climax of a tight qualifying session at the circuit of the Americas for Sunday's United States Grand Prix. However an engine change grid penalty for Leclerc means that Red Bull's Max Verstappen will be promoted to the front row of the grid. Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will line up on row two thanks to a grid penalty for Sergio Perez. Lance Stroll confirmed an ongoing resurgence for Lance Stroll by finishing ahead of McLaren's Lando Norris, with Fernando Alonso almost making it to the final pole shoot-out but similarly beset with a grid penalty for tomorrow's race. 2022...
