FIA set to crack down on F1 drivers' underwear!

FIA race director Niels Wittich has informed F1's drivers that the governing body will be checking their underwear in the future to ensure that it is in compliance with the governing body's safety standards. Wittich reminded drivers during Friday's two-hour briefing of the dangers of wearing synthetic underwear or undergarments that don't comply with the FIA's International Sporting Code. In the event of a fire, fabric worn under a driver's race suit such as nylon, acrylic or polyester will melt when ignited and may cause extremely severe burns.
