Latifi 'caught by surprise' in big Q1 impact

Williams driver Nicholas Latifi admitted he was caught completely by surprise by his big accident mid-way through the first round of qualifying for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Saturday evening. Having completed an flying lap Q1, his second run saw him lose the car on the entry of turn 13 throwing him into the barrier and wrecking the car, triggering the first red flag stoppage of the session. "It just seemed like I lost the rear under braking into turn 13, so we need to look at the data to understand exactly why," he said.
