F1 official statement: 'Detailed assurance of safety'

The GP weekend in Saudi Arabia will go ahead despite the threatening situation. Formula One is releasing an official statement stressing that safety can be guaranteed in Jeddah. The choice of the FIA and the F1 organization in Jeddah came in for a lot of criticism. The organization is said to have succumbed to the financial reasons for allowing the weekend to go ahead and therefore not taking security seriously enough. According to many F1 experts and F1 fans, this week's missile attacks still pose a threat.
