Verstappen expecting Red Bull to battle Ferrari and Mercedes in 2022

Max Verstappen is unsure of exactly where Red Bull will be in the pecking order in 2022, but reckons that Ferrari and Mercedes will be right up there this year. Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez set 224 laps between them in the opening two days of the second test in Bahrain and, in a similar vein to Barcelona, have not been hitting the top of the timing screens an awful lot so far. This is likely by design as they seek to prevent other teams from seeing their full potential, and if it is indeed a ploy to divert attentions elsewhere, it would be appear to be working well.
