Bottas: ‘Now I can just be the best version of myself’
Valtteri Bottas has admitted he no longer has to be 'trying too hard' every week to be 'something else' behind the wheel, and he can focus on being the best version of himself at Alfa Romeo. Bottas largely played second fiddle to Lewis Hamilton in his five seasons at Mercedes, with the Finn often unable to beat the seven-time World Champion on a regular enough basis to mount a meaningful title challenge of his own. He took 10 victories in his time with the Silver Arrows, but the team opted to promote George Russell to partner Hamilton instead this season.
