‘It's a very, very fine line': Hamilton opens up on lying about tyre wear

Sir Lewis Hamilton has joked about radio messages often broadcast regarding his tyre wear, and said that he has to ensure he does not bluff his own team when exaggerating how worn they are. Infamous have become radio messages from the Briton to his Mercedes race engineer, Peter Bonnington, saying that his tyres are dead or the rears are finished. Sometimes this is true, but on other occasions he will then go to set the fastest lap of the race a few laps later, contradicting statements that the tyres had no residual performance in them.
