Gasly eager to push AlphaTauri to the front of the grid

Article To news overview © Red Bull Contentpool/Getty Images Pierre Gasly says he wants to push his AlphaTauri team to the front of the F1 grid in 2022, as the Frenchman seeks to build on the momentum of a promising two years back at the Faenza outfit. After a chastening half-season with Red Bull in 2019, Gasly was demoted back to the then-Toro Rosso squad that he had begun his F1 career with in 2018. However, Gasly has been a man transformed since returning to Toro Rosso - renamed AlphaTauri in 2020 - taking a shock win in a chaotic Italian Grand Prix, and scoring regular points to cement his status as one of the best drivers outside F1's top teams.
