Piastri: "I think that speaks volumes about their belief in me"

Despite winning the Formula 2 title, Oscar Piastri will have to watch from the sidelines in 2022. The Australian is under contract with Alpine F1 Team as a test driver and says he's glad for the opportunity, though of course he would have loved to race. Piastri had a particularly good rise in his racing career. The Aussie won the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2019, the Formula 3 championship in 2020 and the Formula 2 championship in 2021. Yet this was not enough for a permanent seat in Formula 1. Instead, he will work as a test driver for Alpine and there is nothing wrong with that according to Piastri himself.
