Honda 'surprised' by Mercedes engine penalties

In an ironic twist, Honda's technical director, Toyoharu Tanabe has admitted 'surprise' at the number of engine penalties the Mercedes power unit is incurring this season. 'I am very surprised they are changing the ICE (internal combustion engine) frequently,' Tanabe told reporters. 'Actually, I cannot believe what's going on. 'From the PU manufacturer point of view, it's kind of disappointing to get a PU penalty for the driver,' he added. His comment comes at a time Lewis Hamilton has taken a 5-place hit for Sunday's Grand Prix after taking on a new ICE, his fourth of the season.
