Alonso: Formula 1 is pursuing improvements when they are not always needed

Formula 1 has been trialling a new 'Sprint' format this year with the Brazilian Grand Prix in November set to host the final Sprint Qualifying of the season. The format sees qualifying take place on a Friday, before a 100km race on Saturday and the main Grand Prix on Sunday.
