Wolff welcomes serial ‘winner' Russell to Mercedes
Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has welcomed George Russell as a 'winner in every racing category' and looks forward to the next stage of his career. The news most people knew was coming has now been confirmed – Russell will be a Mercedes driver come 2022 and will line up alongside seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton. It is a huge opportunity which Russell earned through consistently impressive performances since joining the grid in 2019, with 2021 proving to be his strongest season yet having delivered a points finish and podium already.
