Paul Ricard Qualifying: Can anyone stop Max?

At a circuit where many expected Mercedes to regain their momentum, it is Max Verstappen who is the man to beat heading into qualifying at Paul Ricard. On early Saturday afternoon in FP3, the Dutchman put his stamp on proceedings with a 1.31.300 lap time that saw him 0.747 seconds clear of his closest rival. Verstappen has not been on pole position since the season opener in Bahrain, but it would be a shock at this point not to see the Dutchman start tomorrow's French Grand Prix from P1. At Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas looks the more comfortable of the pair, with Lewis Hamilton once again adrift of his teammate.
