Grosjean falls just short of second IndyCar pole

Romain Grosjean fell just short of claiming his second IndyCar pole position in Detroit, qualifying in P3 behind Pato O'Ward and Alex Rossi. Since being dropped by Haas at the end of the 2020 season, Grosjean has joined the IndyCar grid, driving for Dale Coyne Racing, and has made an excellent start to life in the series. After a solid first two races, he really came into his own at Indianapolis, claiming pole position before narrowly missing out on the win, finishing the race in P2. After not participating in the famous oval race at the circuit, he returned for the Detroit Grand Prix, and made a strong start to the weekend in qualifying. He couldn't quite repeat his Indianapolis heroics...
