Alpine opens talks with Ocon over new F1 deal, rules out Gasly
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a stellar start to his second campaign with Alpine, having been able to continue his late-season momentum from last year that saw him take his maiden F1 podium at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix. Ocon has led the rebranded Alpine squad’s charge so far in 2021, scoring 10 points compared to returning two-time world champion Fernando Alonso’s five, while he has also outqualified the Spaniard at three of the opening four rounds.
