In this way Abiteboul remains involved with Renault/Alpine as an advisor

Cyril Abiteboul had to leave after the end of the last Formula 1 season as team boss at Renault. The team is now known as Alpine and is led by Luca de Meo. Nevertheless, Abiteboul remains involved with the Formula 1 project of the French, as became clear after the Portuguese Grand Prix. Abiteboul was associated with Renault for several years, but his contract was not renewed at the end of 2020. In the meantime, Abiteboul has become an advisor to Mecachrome. This French organization is closely involved with the production and development of the Renault engines which Alpine uses.
