Silverstone confirmed as first venue for F1 sprint race trial

Sam Hall Wednesday 28 April 2021 12:39 - Updated: 12:39 Silverstone managing director Stuart Pringle has confirmed the British Grand Prix will be the first event to trial F1's new sprint race qualifying format later this year. F1 announced on Monday it had received the green light to proceed with its plan to trial a new weekend format including a Saturday sprint race that will decide the grid for the grand prix.
