Mercedes trying to save Bottas' engine after 30G crash

Article To news overview © Mercedes Mercedes are hard at work trying to salvage what they can from Valtteri Bottas' W12 after his massive crash at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, with engineer director Andrew Shovlin revealing the impact reached as much as 30G. The Finn came together with George Russell in spectacular fashion heading into Tamburello as the Williams driver tried to go around the outside. Unfortunately Russell's right tyres touched the damp grass, sending his car into the Mercedes with both cars hitting the wall at high speeds. Shovlin says Mercedes are doing what they can in an attempt to salvage some of the car, including the power unit, ahead of the Portuguese Grand Prix....
