Allison moving to new role in Mercedes reshuffle

Mercedes has announced a change in their technical leadership structure with James Allison to become their new chief technical officer on July 1. The newly-created role which Allison is moving to means he will be taking a step back from the day-to-day management of Mercedes' Formula 1 technical operations. Replacing him as technical director will be long-time Mercedes team member, Mike Elliott. He joined the Silver Arrows back in 2012 as head of aerodynamics and, since 2017, has been the team's technology director.
