Silverstone organisers join calls for 'vaccine passports'

Silverstone has joined a list of sporting venues and bodies in calling for the use of 'vaccine passports' as a means of increasing the number of spectators allowed at events this summer. Fans will be allowed to return to sports venues in the the UK from May 17, although crowds will be capped at 25% of capacity. This step is dependent on a series of measures being hit with regards to the rollout of the vaccine and the number of people suffering with COVID-19. The UK plans to lift all restrictions on June 21, with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone scheduled for July 18.
