Aston Martin dismiss negative early perceptions of Vettel after dismal debut

Ian Parkes Monday 29 march 2021 08:29 Aston Martin team principal Otmar Szafnauer has launched a vigorous defence of Sebastian Vettel in the wake of his wretched debut weekend for the team. Vettel finished a miserable 15th in the Bahrain Grand Prix after starting from the back of the grid, while he also collected five penalty points on his licence for two separate infringements. Article continues under video After being deemed guilty of ignoring double-waved yellow flags in qualifying that saw him handed a five-place grid drop, the four-time F1 champion was also punished with a 10-second time penalty for running into the back of Alpine's Esteban Ocon in the race.
