Wolff: Honda has done a great job

Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff praised Honda after the Japanese company's engines powered Red Bull's Max Verstappen to pole position for the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix today. Ther seven times world champion Lewis Hamilton qualified second and Valtteri Bottas third, well beaten by Max Verstappen in the Honda-powered Red Bull. Three tenths the gap between the top time on the night. It was the first time in the V6 turbo hybrid era that started in 2014 that Mercedes had not secured pole for the first race of the season which also ended their streak of top spot starts at Sakhir that dated back to 2014.
