FIA to carry out 'random deeper technical checks'

The FIA has announced that all cars will face 'random deeper technical checks' throughout the season, the move coming in the wake of a number of recent controversies not least that involving Ferrari's power units in 2019. 'In order to complete deeper technical checks of the cars in the Championship, the Technical Delegate will routinely and randomly select one car at each Event following the race for deeper disassembly, conformity checks and checks of software and systems,' read a bulletin issued by the Bahrain stewards this morning.
