‘I'll lock Alonso in garage to stop him cycling'

Flavio Briatore has threatened to lock Fernando Alonso in the garage if he chooses not to give up cycling after his recent accident. Alonso, who is returning to Formula 1 in 2021 after two years away from the sport, was hospitalised earlier this month following a crash in Switzerland. The Spaniard collided with a car near Lugano and was taken to hospital, where he was treated for a fractured jaw and broken teeth. He has since returned to training, but his former team principal Briatore, who had a part to play in his move to join Alpine, has told him he must stop cycling.
