Alpine sets date for launch of 2021-spec A521
Alpine has become the latest Formula 1 team to outline its launch plans for the 2021 season, with its A521 due to be unveiled virtually on March 2. Renault returned to Formula 1 as a works outfit in 2016, taking over the Lotus squad, and for 2021 has rebranded its squad under its Alpine guise. The Alpine moniker is being pushed by Renault CEO Luca de Meo, who joined the company last year, unveiling his revised strategy for the company in January, which included a ‘winter livery' for its Formula 1 car. Alpine’s launch will take place on the same day as the unveiling of Mercedes’ W12. The team will field Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon in Formula 1 this season. Alonso suffered a...
