Honda: "It should ensure Red Bull and AlphaTauri can race competitively"
Honda saw 2022 as the right time to change the direction of the team. By 2050, Honda wants to be carbon neutral and therefore the targets had to be adjusted. The least they could do was help the current teams Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri with their own departure. New goal for Honda "We are committed to our goal of Honda being carbon neutral by 2050, which is why we are diverting our F1 resources to this new target," Honda's chief communications officer Koji Watanabe said in a press release. "However, as a company that has been involved in Formula 1 for several decades, we felt it was the right thing to do to help our two current teams and indeed the sport as a whole....
