Rumours of F1 street circuit cancellation are 'not true at all'
The corona pandemic is still causing many problems inside and outside Formula 1. Whereas in 2020 they remained largely within Europe, the plan for 2021 is for them to fly around the world again to complete a record 23 races. This also creates a logistical challenge, with the chance of an outbreak within the F1 paddock always present. This also increases the likelihood of a Grand Prix being cancelled. This leaves many street circuits with worries. Often they have to start preparing for a Grand Prix months in advance and so it is a very expensive mission if eventually it turns out that the race cannot take place.
