Brown clear: 'We will only be a Mercedes customer team'

Next year McLaren is going to switch from Renault engines to Mercedes engines and with this step the Lando Norris team hopes to make the step towards the top three. Daniel Ricciardo will also join the team. Top man Zak Brown expects McLaren to remain independent and not become a second team of Mercedes. While Red Bull Racing has AlphaTauri and Ferrari is strengthening ties with Haas, Mercedes does not have a team where they can place their juniors or strengthen their team members. According to Brown, McLaren is not going to serve that either. "It's just a customer relationship. The team is really looking forward to working with Mercedes," Brown explains to Motorsport-Total.com....
