Italian media: 'Zanardi responds to voices with hand gestures'
Alessandro Zanardi was seriously injured in a crash with his handbike in June earlier this year. The Italian has been in hospital for a long time, in (artificial) coma. This because of serious complications in and severe damage to his head. He also underwent several brain surgeries and was occasionally transferred from hospital to specialised rest home and back again. Now almost half a year later there is some good news to report. Thumbs up The Italian Corriere della Sera reported that Zanardi was responding to votes by making hand movements.
